This is a highly stylized and simplified picture of a person bending over and inspecting, examining, objects. The person is on the top right, his eyeball has been simplified to two sticks on the left, the objects he is inspecting used to be three kou which were also a simplification of the picture of objects, now it is a weird horizontal ri and a dot on top. This simplification might be easier to write but is so deformed from the original as to be barely evident even to the trained eye.

Likewise terribly simplified. It’s a picture of a person kneeling down looking into a dish. The dish is on the bottom and is the only element which isn’t deformed. The bamboo tip on the right top is actually ren person. The two lines on the left are a stylized simplification of his big ol eyeball.
