坚持 jianchi

Jinzhang means tense, nervous; it’s literally tight+pulled.
Jianchi means persistence. Firm base on the left, grasp support maintain on the right.
Jin and Jian sound alike and look alike. They both have two vertical sticks on the left; that is a simplifaction of chen 臣 which is a picture of an eye turned 90% degrees looking down from its perspective but to the right from your perspective. The difference is jin has small+silk 小+幺 benath whereas jian has a clump of dirt tu 土 beneath it.
