去 大 囗

去 qu to go

This character is so simplified/deformed there is almost no point to its etymology. The top plus used to be 大 da big. The bottom si 厶 means private personal but is often as here used as a pictorial element. It used to be something like enclosure 囗 The idea was a big man on top, stepping out from the city. It may be easier to think of the top as earth tu 土 and the bottom as an arrow. that is a false etymology but like I said this character is terribly deformed due to the standardization and simplification of the Song dynasty font.
