沆 瀣 一 起

沆 hang as in we must all hang together or surely we will hang separately; it means “ferry”. A river on the left, the image of a ferry-boat on the right.
瀣 xie = mist. River or water on the left, a bone on the top middle 歹beside a grasping hand on the right　又　 above leeks　韭 sprouting from the ground on the lower right.

The image then is of Charon, the ferryman of death, in the mist of the river Styx. Death and Darkness Shrouded in Shadow.

沆瀣一起 Literally: Rising up together in the mist.

Meaning: ACTING TOGETHER IN COLLUSION.
