FONOPS and anti-piracy operations shall continue. No famines, no surge in pirates, Zeihan’s predictions are wrong. Instead the USA will do offshore balancing. Basically Zeihan confuses a smart rejection of “nation building” with neo-isolationism. He doesn’t even use the correct terms (nation-building, offshore balancing, neo-isolationism) because he’s basically a showman with good marketing. Though, I suspect his MARKET analysis esp. of petroleum markets and probably also of agriculture is good.
