read all cases up to page 109 for next time (McCulloch+ 3 more).

Readings for next time are McCulloch and then the three cases which follow it.
In this course we will do the cases in order. We will not skip any of the cases. The most important materials are first. I would like to try to do three cases per session. Both Marbury and McCulloch are vitally important and set the stage for everything else. But I ask you to have read those other three cases because they will go more quickly and as you see this is hard work.

It gets easier with practice. You learn the vocabulary, how to spot the rules and arguments. The only way to learn it is by doing it.<br />

The cases after McCulloch are
National Relations Board v. Jones & Laughlin Steel,
Helvering v. Davis
Wickard v. Fillburn

So please have read up to page 109 for next time. Read McCulloch thoroughly and carefully. Talk with each other about it! You can and should make study groups with your friends! And you should make friends!

I don’t think we will get to Wickard, but we might, so please have read it. We will certainly get to NLRB and  hopefully also to Helvering. But if I am wrong and we work faster than expected I ask you to be prepared so we can do the work.

Thank you for your attention you all did very well with Marbury, and so Van Gend was Much easier to understand.

See you next week!

Eric
